Corberán: “It’s time to compete and to give our all”
The coach looks ahead to the game against Deportivo Alavés
After he was drafted into the starting lineup due to an injury to José Luis Gayà, the returning Toni Lato put in a solid showing against Real Madrid. The fullback spoke to VCF Media after the game.
A painful defeat
We're hurting, because I think that we did enough during a large part of the game to have taken something more. We're hurt, because we wanted to take the three points in front of our fans. It's been a tough year, and we wanted to give them this joy and continue up at the top of the table. It was tough, but we're a great team and I'm proud of the effort that we put in. We have to keep going in the same way, and I'm sure that better results will come.
Working well
We put in a great effort. There were many setbacks throughout the match. I hope that the injuries to my teammates are as small as possible. We all try and give the maximum for the team. We had the game there for the taking, and we have to continue in the same way.
His return
We work to help the team with whatever is needed. I have had a difficult time, because in preseason I wasn't able to play any games due to injury. Coming back against Real Madrid and with 30,000 fans at Mestalla was reason to bring joy to the supporters, but wasn't been possible. We will work to make them happy.
